Who Weight Loss meals are for
Weight Loss is the right size if you are trying to drop body fat, if you are eating to a daily target set by a coach or a calculator, or if you simply want lunches and dinners that are portion-controlled so the rest of the day looks after itself. At roughly 300 calories a meal, three Weight Loss meals plus a high protein breakfast and a snack land most people between 1,400 and 1,700 calories a day. If you are not sure whether that is right for you, the calorie calculator on our home page works it out from your height, weight, age and activity in about 30 seconds.
What a Weight Loss meal looks like
Every meal is the same shape: a protein, a carbohydrate and a vegetable, cooked fresh and portioned so the calories land around 300. The protein is a proper portion, because protein is what keeps you full and protects muscle while you are in a deficit. The carbohydrate is measured down to keep the calories where they need to be. You pick each part yourself in the builder, so a week can be Peri Peri Chicken with sweet potato and green veg on Monday, Bombay Pork Tenderloin with Bombay rice on Tuesday, Sweet Chilli Steak Strips with white potato on Wednesday, and so on. The calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat are printed on every label, so tracking takes seconds.
Why people choose it over the national brands
Most national meal prep brands charge £6 to £8 a meal, some well over £10, and most of them set the menu for you. Weight Loss meals are £4.85 whether you order 5 meals or 30, you choose every element, and because we cook in Middlesbrough and deliver with our own van across Teesside, the food goes from our kitchen to your fridge without a courier in between. We are rated 4.9 from nearly 200 Google reviews.
How ordering works
Choose Weight Loss in the builder and pick how many meals you want, anywhere from 5 to 30. The price per meal is the same whatever the number of meals, so a 5-meal trial costs no more per meal than a 30-meal week. Then build each meal: pick the protein from 31 dishes (chicken, pork, beef and steak, meatballs and a vegan option), pick a carbohydrate from 12 (white rice, brown rice, garlic and herb rice, Bombay rice, sweet potato, white potato, mash, pasta, noodles and more) and add peas and carrots, green veg or salad, or leave the veg out. Every meal is cooked fresh in our Middlesbrough kitchen, portioned and labelled with its calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat.
Delivery and collection
Our own van delivers across every TS postcode, from Middlesbrough, Stockton and Redcar to Hartlepool, Guisborough, Yarm and Ingleby Barwick, on Sunday evening, Monday and Thursday. Local delivery is £7.50 and you can split an order across two delivery days at no extra cost, so the food is always fresh. Everywhere else in mainland UK we deliver on Wednesday by DPD in a chilled parcel with ice packs. Order by Sunday 12 noon for Sunday evening, Sunday 6pm for Monday, or Wednesday 6pm for Thursday. You can also collect from the kitchen at 33 Metcalfe Road, Middlesbrough TS6 6PT and save the delivery cost. Meals keep for 72 hours in the fridge, or freeze them on the day they arrive and reheat in three to five minutes.
Meal Money
Every order earns 5% back as Meal Money to spend on your next one, and when you refer a friend you both get £5. There is no contract and no commitment. Order when you want to.
Weight Loss meals, or a full calorie plan?
Weight Loss meals are the flexible option: you decide how many meals a week and what to eat around them. If you would rather have the whole day planned, our weekly calorie plans cover five days of breakfasts, mains and snacks at 1500, 1800, 2000, 2200, 2500 or 3000 calories a day, and the 1500 plan is built from Weight Loss portions. There is more on how the two fit together on our weight loss meal plans page.
Questions we get asked
How many Weight Loss meals should I order a week?
Most customers order 10 for lunch and dinner Monday to Friday, or 14 to cover the weekend too. If you are new, start with 5 and see how the portions suit you. The price per meal is the same at every size.
Will 300 calories fill me up?
The protein portion is a proper one, which is what makes the difference. Most people find a Weight Loss meal with a high protein breakfast and a snack in between more than enough. If you train hard or you are a bigger person, Maintenance at around 370 calories may suit you better, and the calculator will tell you.
Can I mix Weight Loss and Maintenance meals in one order?
Each order is one portion size, so build a Weight Loss order and a Maintenance order separately if you want both. They can be delivered together.
Do I have to eat the same thing every day?
No. You build each meal individually, so a 10-meal order can be 10 different dishes. Most people pick four or five favourites and rotate them.
